The article suggests a new interpretation of some paintings of the famous carolingian Sacramentary of Gellone in connection with the activation of the illustrated initials included in some liturgical texts of the manuscript. The Gellone Sacramentary were produced at the end of the eighth century and contains a very important version of the text of the roman sacramentary made for priests. The main topic of this article is the active participation of the illustrated initials of the canon of the mass and the baptismal ritual for the incarnation of the theological ideas of each ritual in the course of the liturgy.

En El artículo propone una interpretacion nueva de algunas miniaturas del famoso sacramentario carolingio de Gellone, de acuerdo con la activacion que se practicaba de las iniciales incluidas en los textos de algunos rituales. Este manuscrito fue producido a finales del siglo viii y con-tiene una version importante del sacramentario romano para los presbíteros. El tema central de este estudio es la participación activa de las iniciales pintadas del canon missae y del ritual bautismal en la " encarnación " de las principales ideas teológicas de cada ritual y en el desa-rrollo de la liturgia.
