La mise en action des images dans l'illustration du sacramentaire de Gellone : le canon de la messe et le rituel baptismal

Abstract : The article suggests a new interpretation of some paintings of the famous carolingian Sacramentary of Gellone in connection with the activation of the illustrated initials included in some liturgical texts of the manuscript. The Gellone Sacramentary were produced at the end of the eighth century and contains a very important version of the text of the roman sacramentary made for priests. The main topic of this article is the active participation of the illustrated initials of the canon of the mass and the baptismal ritual for the incarnation of the theological ideas of each ritual in the course of the liturgy.
