This book deals with the interpretation of illness and sickness, and the systems for preserving and restoring health in various social contexts, kinds of therapeutic operators, plurality of prevention and recovery knowledge and practices, from shamans to western medical doctors, health preservation and magical-religious perspectives, ritual therapies effectiveness, health care delivery systems in multicultural societies. An outline of the complex and wide phenomenology of the "social side" of health/sickness dynamics.
