Historical capital of the kingdom of Hadramawt, Shabwa was the seat of the sovereigns of Hadramawt, as evidenced by its Shaqîr palace, but also other royal residents of which there are few traces. The small corpus of inscriptions relating to the Shaqîr palace allows us to have an idea, although incomplete, of the main events which occurred both in the capital and its Shaqîr palace.
