M. Cetius Faventinus. Concordance. Documentation bibliographique, lexicale et grammaticale

Wahrscheinlich im 3. Jh. n.Chr. hat M. Cetius Faventinus seine Schrift De diversis
fabricis architectonicae (oder genauer wohl Artis architectonicae privatis usibus liber) verfaßt, die er als einen Abriß von Vitruvs De architectura vorstellt. Die Auswahl und Formulierung der von Faventinus aufgegriffenen Themen und die Änderungen, die er an der Darstellung Vitruvs vornimmt, sind für die Geschichte der
Architektur, der antiken Rezeption eines Architekturtraktats und der technischen
Fachsprache von großem Interesse. Die Konkordanz zu Cetius Faventinus stellt daher eine besonders nützliche Ergänzung dar zur Konkordanz zu Vitruvs De architectura. Sie basiert auf der Ausgabe von V. Rose (1867), doch hat der Herausgeber
auch sein eigenes Studium der Handschriften, das die Vorarbeit für eine neue Cetius-Faventinus-Edition in der "Collection des Universités de France" bildet, der
Konkordanz zugrundegelegt.
M. Cetius Faventinus' work De diversis fabricis architectonicae (or more correctly
Artis architectonicae privatis usibus liber), which he presents as summary of Vitruvius' De architectura, probably dates from the third century A.D. The selection
and formulation of the topics by Faventinus and the changes which he makes in
Vitruvius' work are of great interest for the history of architecture, the reception of
an architectural treatise of Antiquity, and of the history of technical language. The
concordance to Cetius Faventinus thus represents an invaluable addition to the
concordance to Vitruvius' De architectura. Although it is generally based on the
edition by V. Rose (1867), the editor has also taken into consideration his own
work on the manuscripts as a preliminary study for a new Cetius Faventinus
edition to appear in the "Collection des Universités de France"
