Leoni-Capri: qualche annotazione sulla stele felsinea nr. 82
Résumé
The proliferation of oriental iconographies on the stone steles of ancient Bologna suggests that even the lion-goat image belongs to this repertoire. The motif, typical of the near ancient East figurative heritage, was exported in the final decades of the seventh century BC in southern Etruria. The northern area of Etruria, in particular the area around Fiesole, played a fundamental role in the transmission of the orientalizing imagery to the Po Valley cultures.
