This poster outlines my research project entitled “A connected history of the expansion of foreign settlements in China (1846-1946)”, which seeks to undertake further exploration of the preliminary conclusions drawn in my Ph.D. dissertation. Besides my own research agenda, I also aim to enlarge the scope of research on modern and contemporary Chinese history through the development of digital strategies for data management and analysis.
