Des professeurs d’EPS expérimentés (cinq ans et plus d’ancienneté) de Bretagne vus par eux-mêmes : étude sociologique de leur(s) identification(s) professionnelle(s) dans l’Enseignement Public et dans l’Enseignement Privé

Abstract : Our thesis is in the sociology of Physical and Sports Education (PSE). We uncover the most influential constitutive elements in the process of professional identification of PE teachers in public and private education, focusing on those in the Académie de Rennes (Brittany, France). In a previous research study conducted in 2012, we had already addressed the professional identities of PE teachers. We confirmed "the importance of the elements essential to the professional socialisation of these teachers: club practice, initial training, experience acquired from work colleagues, use of the internet, etc." (Marec, 2012, p. 4). "(Marec, 2012, p. 27). It is the influence of these external elements that we are studying in the context of our doctoral research, extending and enriching this work with a descriptive sociology study of professional identifications, defined by Roux-Perez (2005), Autret (2010) and Dubar (2010) as a construction process, the result of the interaction between the image that we construct of ourselves, the image that we wish to project to others, and the image that others project to us.
