Revisando textos e imágenes de la Monarquía francesa acerca del Perú Republicano.

Abstract : The French vision of Peru has already been the subject of numerous publications, since Pablo Macera's book published in 1976. Among other sources, Macera highlighted the report of the sailor Alphonse de Moges written in 1825 as a confidential document, which can be accessed at the French National Archive. Later on he became interested in a "Letter from Bordeaux", published in El Peruano, to encourage European migration, shortly before religious migration was encouraged in the second government of Ramón Castilla to go on missions and alleviate hardship thanks to the order of the Daughters of Charity. Another treasure not very accessible and attractive are the watercolors deposited in the Angrand fund of the National Library of Paris. In reality, there are many documents and paintings that deserve to be inventoried and analyzed as representative of nineteenth-century Peru from the viewpoint prone to a "postcard" effect of many foreigners, although the testimonies contain a part of truth that deserves to be rescued after being forgotten.
