ANALYSE COMPARÉE DES ÎLOTS DE CHALEUR DE SURFACE DIURNES ET NOCTURNES EN ENVIRONNEMENT TROPICAL CONTINENTAL ET TEMPÉRÉ OCEANIQUE

Abstract : This research aims to compare and analyze the intensities of urban surface heat islands during the day and at night in Presidente Prudente - Brazil and Rennes - France, medium-sized cities, located respectively in tropical continental and oceanic temperate climate. For this, surface temperature maps were generated from images of the Landsat 8 satellite, band 10 of the thermal infrared channel / TIRS 1. The results show that the surface heat islands, with higher temperatures in the built-up areas were recorded at Presidente Prudente, day and night under conditions of high maximum atmospheric temperatures. In Rennes, due to the cooler climatic conditions that caused precipitation in the days preceding the taking of the images, during the day, the intensity of the heat island was lower than during the night, with temperatures higher recorded on water bodies (rivers and ponds).
