Abstract : As part of a study focusing on the settlement strategies of farming communities, a spatial model is developed in order to overcome the repartition map’s biases. This model integrates as parameters the state of archaeological investigation, the taphonomical processes and an attractiveness criterion. The aim of the model is to understand which parameters influence the establishement of settlements as well as the conservation and discovery of their remains. Although this model has a few limitations, it produces new results that are detailed through the case study of the Kochersberg region in Alsace (Grand-Est, France).
