Les recherches sur la difficulté dans le travail enseignant : approches et résultats.

Abstract : This synthetic paper aims to give an account of research into the difficulties of teaching. A review of works in French, English and Spanish shows five types of methodology : psychological, socio-anthropological, didactic, based in theories of work and action, and empirical. The paper describes their theoretical and methodological specificities, then synthesizes the results of research with each method using common themes such as stress and burn out factors, working conditions, classroom difficulties, durability in the profession, the management of didactic incidents, or how to accompany teachers encountering difficulties. In a final stage the paper highlights several aspects of the historical evolution of studies in the difficulties of the teaching profession, as well as the results of transversal methods.
