神 Shén de la poésie à la calligraphie et la peinture

Abstract : In the Shijing (Book of Odes), “神 shén” is generally translated by “spirits”, then, if often translated by “divinities” or “divine” in the Chuci (Odes of Chu), one begins also to glimpse an individual spirit, the poet’s one. It is between the 3rd and 5th century A.D. that 神 shén makes sense in artistic languages but this notion comes in multiple nuances giving rise to the idea of a Dao of art.
