Paysage végétal funéraire et arbres psychopompes : Etudes, sources disponibles et réalités archéologiques

Abstract : Christian funeral landscape has to take plant-like dimension into account. Historical and archaeological literatures were first investigated and the findings led to a better understanding of the lack of data such as modalities and functions of the cemetaries’landscapes. Iconography and ancient texts as well as archaeo-botanical remains have enabled the landscape to be even just approached. This paper presents some initial results and considers a range of issues prior to elaborate a multiproxi program research on green necropolis.
