L’aide aux personnes âgées n’est pas seulement une affaire de femmes

Abstract : Women are more likely to provide elderly care than men, both because they are more concentrated in related service jobs and because they are more engaged in domestic care. This is partly explained by gender norms, which encourage women to be more involved in these activities. These norms, however, admit of varied configurations which bring about different kinds of involvement. Furthermore, ongoing demographic changes as well as changes in gender norms could promote a greater participation of men in caregiving.
