This lecture, based on the study of unknown or little know sources from Weimar (Goethe- und Schiller-Archiv) and Budapest (Liszt Ferenc Memorial Museum and Research Centre) focuses on the role played by Gregorian melodies in Liszt two oratorios. it shows how he found and chose them and the way he integrated them in his compositions.
