The Vasu Position and the Sister’s Mana. The case of Lau, Fiji

Abstract : This chapter studies the importance of the sister and brother relationship and the overall role of the eldest sister as the bearer of the mana of the ancestors. It also analyses the sister's child or vasu position as one of power, be it in the marriage alliances or in war waging in the past.
