Abstract : We propose a quantitative study exploring the link between instrumented training systems designed by teachers on a LMS and teacher and student use of this LMS. Our research is in the conceptual framework of instrument- al genesis, we show that regardless of functionality implemented by a designer, it is possible to define a teacher's teach - ing style. This style can be seen by analyzing the interactions data of the "instrumentation" process. This instrumenta- tion can be connected to a specific use of the artifact in education. Our study focuses on the interactions data within 27 devices hosted on a specific LMS. We define two indicators: the first is used to quantify the synchronization of interac- tions data teachers and students, the second allows to express the phase shift between these datas when they are syn- chronous. We use then these indicators to demonstrate the dependence between the shape of a device and method of in- teraction of a teacher.
