Pluriculturalité et identification nationale en Nouvelle-Calédonie

Abstract : With the Noumea's agreement in 1998, New Caledonia, has entered in a process of progressive access to sovereignty implies a mutual recognition of cultural groups, called together to form a "common destiny". The communication is based on a survey interviews aimed to explore the link between cultural identities and sense of belonging to the "country" under construction. We search to know as far as cultural comparisons can go beyond the always crucial and pervasive question of national independence ? Without close the deeper ambiguities, one answer is attempted by a separation between expressions of identity and political conflicts.
