Al-Manâr, pilier du dispositif communicationnel du Hezbollah
Résumé
Following the signing of the Taëf agreements which marked the official end of the Lebanese civil war (1975-1990), al-Manar was founded in June 1991 as the television station of the Hezbollah, in addition to the party's older media, the weekly al-‘Ahd and the radio station al-Nûr. Through its strength as a televised media, it eventually became one of the party's principal means of “self-presentation”. After outlining the activist career of its director, the article presents the multiple uses of the Hezbollah-dominated television station as both an agent for its various means of legitimation and as an intellectual and dramatic support for mobilization.
