La découverte du temple intra-muros de Nakraḥ à Maʿîn, l'antique Qarnâ
Résumé
The present site of Ma'în, the old city of Qarnâ, has unfortunately been plundered and destroyed. At fall 2006, the looters have illegally excavated an important temple dedicated to the divinity Nakraḥ, located inside the site of Qarnâ, the ancient capital of the kingdom of Ma'în. The new temple, surrounded by a wall, has at least 15 pillars - distributed by 5 pillars in each row - ; each pillar shows one inscription - from 5 to 14 lines - engraved during the reign of the king of Ma'în, Abîyada' Yafash, son of Nabaṭ'îl, a contemporary of Yada''îl, mukarrib of Saba'. This Yada''îl is probably one of the son of Karib'îl Watâr, son of Dhamar'alî Dhâriḥ, the mukarrib of Saba', whose reign is dated from the beginning of the 7th century B.C. The new discovery confirms that whose reign of appearance of the kingdom of Ma'în, in the Jawf valley, dates back to the beginning of the 7th century B.C.
L'actuel site de Ma'în, l'antique Qarnâ, fait l'objet ces dernières années de pillage et de destruction. En 2006, un temple intra-muros a été fouillé clandestinement sur ce site de Qarnâ. Ce temple fut entouré d'une enceinte et comporte 15 piliers inscrits répartis en trois rangées. Tous les textes ont été gravés durant le règne d'Abîyada' Yafash fils de Nabat'îl, contemporain du souverain sabéen Yada''îl, probablement fils du célèbre mukarrib sabéen Karib'îl Watâr, fils de Dhamar'alî Dhârih. Cette nouvelle découverte confirme la date d'apparition du royaume de Ma'în, au début du VIIe s. avant J.-C.
