Scientific conference englishes : epistemic and language community variations

The two aspects we will focus on are speakers' organisational and interactional strategies. A conference presentation is an extended monologue of informational discourse, with a logical hierarchical structure. It is also, however, interactional discourse, which takes place at a specific time and place, and before a live audience. We have chosen to study a certain number of features which embody these two aspects.
