L'INTONATION DU PARLER DE NUORO (SARDAIGNE)

Abstract : My thesis focuses on aspects that cover intonation in a representative range of the Central Eastern part of Sardinia: the dialect of Nuoro. After defining the essential melodic structures of the Sardinian Nuoro, I highlighted the strategic elements carrying information within the intonation units, which will help to distinguish declarative and interrogative methods (total issues) and seel at what levels of the sentence they are located (initial absolute, minor or major border) and what physical parameters involved for this purpose. The same syntactic structure of the two modalities allow us to know at what level of the statement and in which word comes prosodic differentiation. The adopted corpus is fixed and not spontaneous, since it would then subjected to prosodic phenomena connected with contextual or intrinsic events and constraints related to emotion or communication context. I categorically dismissed the read corpus, which does not account for natural intonation structures of a language. Corpora checks are used (Map-Task and life stories) and a corpus of Italian sentences that will measure the persistence of Sardinia Sardinian intonèmes of regional Italian. The fixed corpus thus folds constraints phonetic and morphosyntactic orders with a privileged syntactic structure which is the type Subject-Verb-Object, knowing that SVO form is not rare in Sardinia. Thereafter, it will increase the length of sentences by adding expansions (an adjective and a prepositional phrase) in the SN1 and SV (or SN2). Are taken into account variations combinations of each word using all existing structures accentual (proparoxyton, paroxyton, oxyton. The goal is each time to check, whether the addition of one or more elements to the major border will modify the noun of a point of view intonation (F0, duration, intensity). The results highlight and this for the first time, the prosodic patterns of Nuoro’s Sardinian, with a quantification of changes in physical variables. The characteristics of this Sardinian speak will enrich the heritage of the data collected, which will be listed in the project AMPER (Multimedia Atlas of the Romance Prosodic Space), describing the intonation systems of the Romance dialects, but also allow a comparative and contrastive analysis their prosodic structures.
