Le syntagme verbal isolé à l'impératif en français (XIIe-XVIIe siècle) - Etude morphologique, lexico-sémantique et syntaxique.

Abstract : Does imperative mood exist in french language ? A first morphological and analytical study of imperative verb shows that french system recovers in our period a kind of clear morphematic oppositions similar to those of latin. In a second part, a formal semantic study leads to settle a continuum of nuclear sentences, in which imperative mood squares to the median position, between interjection and predication. Finally, this modal identity can also be confirmed by syntagmatic features, among them the syntax of clitic pronouns or the conception of specific adverbs, as donc.
