Mises en espace des sociétés de la connaissance par les universités et les mobilités étudiantes

Abstract : For those interested in spatial structuring of universities and geographical characteristics of students' mobility, the notion of Knowledge Society is often considered as a background. Before investigating "How Universities and Students' practices spatialize Knowledge Societies", this work offers an inventory of indicators often used to illustrate these kinds of Societies and spatial differentiations that they reveal, but their emblematic spaces. Second, the work is based on databases that reflect training offer in French universities and characteristics of student mobility between institutions and between cities. Comparing students' mobility with training opportunities highlights limits of common classifications to describe realities of students' practices. Comparing students' mobility with inertia spatial structures due to universities put into perspective the recent choices made in terms of academic planning or planning by universities. The territorial anchoring of such equipment does not fall within the same time frames as training courses for students, deadlines which are subject politicians. This results in a very low "cap" the reports drawn up during different periods hinges that have marked the history of the University. Considering these approaches, three research fields are proposed. First of all, students' practices are studied during the training, to better understand the phenomenon of migration "deferred", the less attractiveness of Paris to ties with the decentralization of training sites. Expanding the perspective, it's also working on linkages between students' migration, population decline and academic facilities in a European context marked by population decline. Finally, already noted in the missions of the University, the dissociation is stronger and stronger between training activities, ubiquitous, and more specific research activities. It is to focus on the practices of researchers 'revealed' by their publications and to investigate the discrepancies between trends in training and those specific to research.
