ca 2019-03-08

Description : This monumental frieze that you see here is the result of the work of Gérard Diuel, architect and historian of Port-Louis. Based on his historical knowledge, Gérard Dieul drew Port-Louis around 1765. A frieze of 7m20 long, representing the city of the interior of the harbor, from the citadel to the village of Locmalo. Gérard Dieul reveals in detail, not only the architecture of the city, but also the activities that punctuated the life of the port. Impressed by this exceptional rendition and the work of Gérard Dieul, Alain Pichon decided to analyze, in depth, the work of research and restitution undertaken, and to devote a film to it. A moment of visual and sound immersion in the history of this maritime city until its apogee around 1765. A way to value the unique work of Gérard Dieul, But also to show Port-Louis, at the zenith of its development, quoted so called ... considerable city! TO ACCESS THE MOVIE: open the list of metadata
