Greeting a Guest in Bashkardi

This article contains the edition of a North Bashkardi text with linguistic and socio-cultural notes. Bashkardi is a cluster of varieties of the Iranian branch of Indo-European spoken inland of the Strait of Hormuz which have been documented only very poorly until now. I present my analysis of a recording made by Ilya Gershevitch in Iran in 1956. The text presents the concept and details of traditional hospitality.
