Texts from the Upper-Mesopotamian kingdom in the the time of king Samsi-Addu (also known as Shamshi-Adad I.) in the 18th century BC are dated by Assyrian eponyms and a special month calendar different from the Old Assyrian one. The succession of month names has been established in 1985 by D. Charpin (MARI 4, p. 244ff.) and confirmed in the following years. The starting point of the year in fall, intercalation of supplementary months and annual festivals are known. This dating system survived after the death of Samsi-Addu and the collapse of his huge kingdom in many parts of Upper Mesopotamia.

Les textes du royaume de Haute-Mésopotamie de l'époque du roi Samsi-Addu (également connu sous le nom de Shamshi-Adad I.) au 18e siècle avant J.-C. sont datés par des éponymes assyriens et un calendrier mensuel spécial différent de celui de la ville d'Ashur. La succession des noms de mois a été établie en 1985 par D. Charpin (MARI 4, p. 244ff.) et confirmée dans les années suivantes. Le point de départ de l'année en automne, l'intercalation des mois supplémentaires et les fêtes annuelles sont connus. Ce système de datation a survécu après la mort de Samsi-Addu et l'effondrement de son immense royaume dans de nombreuses régions de Haute Mésopotamie.
