Le thème du labyrinthe comme paradigme de la solitude dans Tuyo es el reino d’Abilio Estévez

Abstract : Even more than his predecessors, the writer of the 20th century is obsessed by the labyrinth, pattern of the human imagination, symbol of a sense’s quest, research of a centre. The labyrinth is closely related to the movement of the writing itself. In Tuyo es el reino, the labyrinth is ubiquitous. Actually, the novel itself is a maze of words, a labyrinth in which the reader gets lost in space, but also in time. So the novel put the reader off the tracks in multiple ways. Various resources are used to create this labyrinth : mise en abyme, sketchy writing, chronology breaks, polyphony, narrative changes and multiplication of the genres. If the labyrinth appears to be a tool that allows to materialize the movement of the writing, it is also used to represent the human wandering and its very own kind of loneliness.
