Questions et sources pour une nouvelle histoire des foires de Lyon
Résumé
The first research paper explored the state of the art on Lyon fairs and the main sources used by old (Brésard, Gascon) and recent scholarly investigations (Gaulin & Rau, Pallini-Martin, Matringe). The paper highlighted the new methodology that CoMOR is applying to the topic: on the one hand the network approach to markets and fairs, focusing on the economic and social relationships between merchants, on the other the analysis of a wide range of sources, ranging from the accounting books of fairs to almanacs, merchant manuals, notarial registers, and the numerous Lyon administrative sources.
