Enfance et mémoire dans la littérature de la dernière dictature argentine

Abstract : The election of Raul Alfonsín on October 30, 1983 and his becoming President of the Republic of Argentina that same year mark the end, if not of violence, at least of the institutional crackdown which had been prevailing in the country before the militaries took power on March 24, 1976. This dictatorship is commonly associated with terms like “the Disappeared” or “Baby theft”, which are subjects very rapidly dealt with in literature and the cinema, all the more since a big number of direct victims of this dictatorship were teenagers or children whose parents were murdered and whose identity was stolen. At the time, the children were powerless actors and often direct or indirect victims before those events and the following upheavals which affected their surroundings and their own development as individuals. This work offers an analysis of the evolution of the presence of children in Argentinian literature and cinema from the mid 80s onwards.
