Djifanghor Nyun (Casamance, Senegal)
Résumé
Djifanghor Nyun (JFG) is the traditional Nyun variety spoken in the village of Djifanghor in the Senegalese province of Lower Casamance (7km East of Ziguinchor on the Senegalese national road Nº6, see Map 1 and 2). JFG is called guñún (i.e. the Nyun’s language) by its own speakers. It is a home language in the five Djifanghor districts of Yɔf (on the right side of the road when coming from Ziguinchor), Bətáki, Nyóogoom, Jɪlɛ́hɛnʊm and Sɔ́lgɔ (on the left side), whose inhabitants are mostly or exclusively Djifanghor Nyuns (see Map 3). In Djifanghor, Nyuns are one of the three main ethnic groups of the village, the two other being Joolas (belonging to the Banjal and Fogny subgroups)– who are regrouped around the Mosque in the center of the village and also in the eastern part thereof (towards Niaguis) – and Mankanyas – who live mostly in the western part of the village (towards Boutout and Ziguinchor).
