Les avatars du travail détaché dans l’agriculture provençale : entre externalisation, salariat bridé et installation

Abstract : This article focuses on the employment of posted workers in intensive agriculture. It discusses the case of the Latin American workforce posted by Spanish temporary employment agencies to Provençal producers. Through this case study, the article analyses the daily operating mode of posted work. It focuses on the strategies to control mobility and reduce labor costs based on flexibility, time availability and outsourcing of risks related to posted work. Finally, we show how detachment has led to other forms of mobility, resulting in the creation of a Latin American community. This increases the ethnic and statutory segmentation of the Provençal agricultural labor market.
