La céramique antique et médiévale de Termez et Khaitabad (Ouzbékistan)

Abstract : Visitors and archaeologists have given it many names: Alexandria of the Oxus, Tarmita, Thirmidh. The ruins of the citadel of ancient Termez are today still visible from afar on the banks of the Amou-Darya river, in the territory of the Ancient Bactria. Located on a promontory, the citadel developed quickly to become one of the capitals of the Kushan Empire, in the very heart of Asia. power plant. This work on the ceramics of Termez and Khaitabad is based on an very broad chronological framework, from the 3rd century BC to the 18th century. Based on the archaeological sites opened between 1993 and 2008 by the French Uzbeki Archaeological Mission, the typological analysis, elaborated from the excavation contexts, offers a Spatial and chronological reading of the corpus as a whole. The book is intended to be a tool for reference for ceramic studies in this region of Uzbekistan.
