Temps courts, temps longs, temps absent. Histoire et temporalités d’une friche centrale promise à la transformation à Tirana (Albanie)

Abstract : The communication proposes to articulate the themes of populations, time and territory by exploring the paradoxical temporalities of an inner city wasteland in Tirana, Albania. The Stacioni i Trenit district designates a twenty-five hectare wasteland on the edge of the hyper-center, is freely used and appropriated by the local community for thirty years, despite the sharp land pressure and large-scale urbanization of the capital. By the means of a pluridisciplinary field research, this communication explores the subject of time from two angles. First by presenting the main temporal phases of this urban territory, which leads to a distinction between long times and short times, and highlights the absence of an intermediate time which would be that of the explicit or instituted conflict. The communication then explores what this analysis by temporality can bring to the models and methods of analysis of urban wastelands, by proposing three figures for discussion: the absent time, the “storytelling” about a territory and the pending time.
