L’exploitation de l’or chez les Lemovices. La chaîne opératoire, de la mine à la métallurgie
Abstract : The largest gold-bearing region of independent Gaul is located in the territory of the Lémovices, a Gallic people who occupied all of present-day Limousin, augmented by the northeast of the Dordogne. While no excavation had been carried out on these mines, called aurières, they were considered to be from the Gallo-Roman period. But their study was to reveal as early as the mid-1980s that they had been exploited during the Gallic era.
