Savoirs, dispositifs et médiations des risques alimentaires : le scandale des œufs contaminés au fipronil

Abstract : With increasing numbers of food-related controversies and sanitary crises, consumer mistrust in food safety is on the rise. In this paper, we mobilize the theoretical framework of organizational communication regarding apparatuses, crisis communication and risk, in order to observe forms of knowledge created about food. We examine the different levels and means of response deployed in the context of the «fipronil egg contamination» food crisis which occured during the summer of 2017. Following major criticism of the institutional response, other actors offer their own response and build new apparatuses focused on greater transparency.
