Ce que la locution CHEZ SOI doit à la préposition CHEZ et au pronom SOI : du sens au texte, et réciproquement

Abstract : The sequence chez soi, whose overall meaning is “at home”, shows a loss of transparency, given the meaning of its constituent elements in modern French (the preposition cheznd the pronoun soi). We will focus on its uses in oral databases: first, as a quasi-compounded phraseological lexicon where chez and soi form a nominal block (see un petit chez-soi); secondly, as a prepositional phrase, where chez governs soi , in examples such as (être / rester / rentrer chez soi) and, finally, as a mixed use halfway between the first two; the segment chez + soi is preceded by a dominant preposition (devant / de / pour chez soi) with particular syntactic constraints and distinct paraphrases. These features make it possible to classify this sequence as a quasi-phraseme or as a weak semi-fixed expression.
