Défis environnementaux émergents. L'adaptation au changement climatique sera-t-elle encore une option pour les sociétés à l'horizon 2030 ?

Abstract : When Hervé Coutau Bégarie wrote « 2030 la fin de la mondialisation » in 2007, the issue of climate change was hotly debated at different levels. Starting from paleoclimate archives, different parts of climate variability are exposed along time scales in the past as well as in the future. The stake of climate change is then reconsidered as a true environmental challenge thanks to new knowledge in climate science published in the last decade. The different component of the emerging environmental stake are explained and related together. Looking back, it is possible to claim that a new major trend emerged along the last 30 years. It is no more possible to deal with future studies without taking into account climate change whatever is the domain, the spatial scale or the time horizon.
