Pour une histoire littéraire transnationale : La littérature algérienne entre « Intégral » et « Intégrisme »

Abstract : Starting with a critical reflection on Raymond Schwab’s La Renaissance orientale, which calls for an “integral humanism,” this article proposes a method of transnational literary history that reintroduces politics, and illustrated with the Algerian case. In particular, contrary to a teleology of integration, or even a universal hybridization, this method makes it possible to highlight the permanent and dialectical tensions within postcolonial literature between international integration and sometimes “integrist” construction of a national specificity.
