Les religieuses québécoises en reconversion dans la mouvance de la Révolution tranquille

Abstract : The number of Quebec religious sisters increased from 6,700 in 1901 to 32,400 in 1961 and returned to its 1901 level in… 2018. This reversal began with the victory of the Liberal Party of Jean Lesage in 1960 and the development of the “Quiet Revolution”. This crisis is synonymous with upheavals in the itinerary of thousands of women, in the organization of their communities of life and in the functioning of public services where the presence of religious sisters was traditionally strong.
