SUR LA SITUATION DES SHS AUJOURD’HUI (2000)

Abstract : The core of a society in its evolution is this moment when it produces knowledge on itself through its human and social sciences. In the same process, it also produces knowledge in its environment. Today human sciences have reached a sort of Copernican moment: instead of taking for starting point the individual subject or the structures in which this subject is embedded, one starts considering this long-time processes through which societies produce knowledge on themselves through individuals and groups. On starts considering also these reflexive processes transform the evolution of our societies. This conjoncture transforms how human and social sciences have to be both studied and practiced.
