La fabrication des accessoires en alliage cuivreux de la ceinture des XIIIe-XIVe siècles : le témoignage du mobilier provençal

Abstract : During the 13th-14th centuries, the copper-alloy belt accessories ocupy a privileged place in the ornamentation of the costume in Provence. The observation of these objects - rings and buckles, plates strap-ends and mounts - reveals the variety of processes used by manufacturers to meet the objectives set. The choices made are based on technical, economic and decorative factors, but rarely functional. The variety of processes used makes it possible to offer customers a wide range of more or less decorative and complex objects at various prices.
