Magie et musique, 1100-1600

Abstract : This collection of articles illustrates the close relationship between music and magic that existed from 1100 and 1600, especially in the West. The question which we seek to answer here is not: “Did there exist a relationship between music and magical traditions?” but rather: “What was the relationship of music and magic during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, and how exactly did it manifest itself in practice and in theory?”
