Héraclès/Jésus dans la sophistique impériale

Abstract : The mutual controversies between Christians and non-Christians were numerous during the first centuries of the Christian era and throughout the late Antiquity. This paper proposes to reassess the history of the construction of the figure of Heracles as it was forged by the emperor Julian in his antichristian diatribe. To the old mythology in relation to the heroic exploits of Heracles is thus substituted a narrative plot that takes up the main stages of the traditional biography of Jesus developed by the authors of the Gospels.
