Les bidonvilles ou le ventre mou de la sécurité en métropole: une réflexion à partir d'Abidjan

Abstract : "Abstract The slums analyzed as full-fledged components of cities are in the sights of the public authorities. They decry them, regardless of their demographic, social and even economic weights in the metropolises of the profile of Abidjan, the economic capital of Côte d'Ivoire. In this evolving metropolis guided by state-inspired urban regulation, the slums characteristic of installation methods and dynamics away from the norms of official procedures and de Sometimes presented as concentrations of poor populations, without urban culture, sometimes dens of bandits, criminals, the slums are the targets of major development operations carried out in the name of urban planning with a safe and/or hygienic purpose. The persistence of slums that resist all plans and patterns leads us to question the very terms of security in question and its springs. Using compiled bibliographical materials and empirical data on security issues on the one h and landscape profiles of the Abidjan slums on the other, this article shows the prospects of integration of spaces conditions to achieve this, depending on the populations concerned."
