Stratégies éditoriales des musées. Une approche de la médiation par l’accès ouvert aux données numérisées

Abstract : Policies for open access to cultural data in museums are now dealing with their vocation to disseminate and share collections and knowledge. This article studies access systems and media circulation for digital heritage made available in the form of cultural data by fostering an approach through mediation. Our field of study consists of a selection of twenty-one US museums that have made their cultural data openly available. It seems clear that the choice of an open dissemination strategy of cultural data, in conjunction with socio-technical devices, implies a debate on the governance model for their perennial management on a transnational scale. This information belongs to the cultural heritage of the institutions and the states that hold them, as well as to the various categories of audiences who use them.
