L’immigration aux États-Unis : enjeux et perspectives

Abstract : Throughout history, the "American Dream" has inspired people to leave behind their homes, homelands, and often even their own history to build something new in America. Immigration to the United States resulted in this "Nation of Nations," as President John F. Kennedy called it in his January 20, 1961, inaugural address, or the Mother of Exiles, an expression taken from a sonnet composed by Emma Lazarus in 1883. Yet immigration policy has for decades been the subject of debate in the United States on the question of how it should be regulated. Let us take the measure of immigration in the United States before analyzing the diversity of American points of view.
