La transition écologique de la filière chimie impacte-t-elle la contribution du transport fluvial à la circulation des produits chimiques ?

Abstract : The ecological transition in the chemical industry is two-faceted: one facet is the greening of the usual production processes, and the other is the development of so-called green chemistry. This transition may impact the related supply chains. How far are these supply chains greening? More specifically, what about waterway transport? The paper aims to shed light on new relationships between the greening chemical industry and waterway transportation, relying on the example of the Seine Valley. The ecological transition in the chemical industry has both positive and negative impacts (prioritising green purchases, changing trade flows) on the use of barge transportation.
