La légalisation du mariage des couples de même sexe en Europe

Abstract : The issue of same-sex marriage is inextricably linked to the broader issue of the place accorded in our societies to homosexual and LGBT (lesbian, gay, bi- and trans) persons. Legalized in the Netherlands from 2001, the right to marriage for same-sex couples follows the granting in many European countries, of a right to registered partnerships for same-sex couples. Introduced in Denmark in 1989, this right is gradually being extended to almost all European states. Until then, the main possibility offered to same-sex couples was adoption between adults, inspired by the ancient model, and the only means of enabling homosexuals to contract a civil relationship other than marriage. This was the case, for example, with the writer Abel Hermant (1862-1950), who adopted in 1915 his "friend" Joachim.
